Our History

For over forty years, the D. Edwin Johnson Baptist Institute has had the mission of training men and women from many denominations for more effective ministry in their local church. Regardless of the educational background, it has been the school's mandate to equip pastors, teachers, missionaries, lay persons, and others desiring to study God's Word to be competent in rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

The value of continuing Christian education, the D. Edwin Johnson Baptist Institute's Seminary Extension program, has been proven and endorsed throughout the country. When pastors, teachers, and lay persons are trained for effective ministry, they minister more effectively in the community and the church. Our society today respects skill and training. In order for the Christian to communicate effectively, he must be well equipped.
